tile centre

How long does it take tilers to install new tiles?

The answer to this question will all depend on the type of tiling you are having completed. For example, if you are just having a small section of your bathroom wall tiled, this won’t take long at all, but if you are planning to have the entirety of your bathroom tiled, walls and floors, this will, of course, take longer to complete. Your tile centre team will be able to advise you on your individual project duration.

Can you order tiles into your tile centre?

Absolutely. We couldn’t possibly stock every tile we have to offer as we would run out of space very quickly! If you have found a tile on our online store, or you have some tile inspiration and would like to see if we can source a specific tile for you, just let us know. We will do our best to locate that tile choice and order it into our store as quickly as possible. Once your tiles have arrived, we will let you know that they are ready so you can come and have a look.

How do I know how many tiles to buy?

The easiest way to know how many tiles you will need to purchase is by having clear and precise measurements of your room. Once you have your measurements, bring them into our tile centre and the team will go through your options and give you a better idea of the amount of tiles you will need to purchase based on your measurements and the size of your chosen tiles.

What tiles should I use for underfloor heating?

Underfloor heating tiles are a great practical choice, and they are also easy to clean and maintain, particularly in heavy traffic areas of your home like the bathroom and kitchen. Working with a reputable tile supplier like Aylesbury Tile Centre means you will have access to the advice and experience you need when deciding which underfloor heating tiles would be great in your home. You will need to make decisions depending on your budget and the style you are looking to achieve – all things your tile supplier can support you with.

Stone tiles – these tiles are incredibly thermally conductive so that you will feel the heat much quicker.

Ceramic tiles – ceramic tiles transfer heat quickly from the heating tube to the surface, much like stone tiles.

Limestone – Limestone will work well with underfloor heating but requires a lot of care and attention.

Slate – If you are looking for a beautiful finish for your floor, slate is a great choice and works well with underfloor heating.

Marble – Another great underfloor heating tile, marble can be used with varying levels of thickness over your heating tubes.

Do you stock tile accessories in your tile centre?

We stock a huge range of tile accessories perfect for helping you to install your tiles yourself, or for local trades that need to replenish their tile accessory products. Simply pay a visit to us on Chamberlain Road to choose the tile accessories you need to complete the job.

Do you have a team to install my chosen tiles?

Yes, our team of installers can support you to lay and complete your tiles if you are not comfortable doing this yourself. Laying tiles can be a complex project, particularly if you need pay to consideration to any underfloor heating you may have had previously installed. Our reliable and experienced team can take this task off your hands and leave you with a beautiful new floor.

How do I maintain my tiles after they have been installed?

Looking after your tiles once they have been installed couldn’t be easier. Most tiles are naturally hardwearing, can withstand heavy foot traffic and are easy to keep clean, hence why they are such a popular choice for flooring and bathroom/kitchen walls. Use warm soapy water to clean your tiles, try to stay away from bleach based products and keep an eye on the grout that surrounds each tile.
