Getting your kitchen tiles Christmas-ready in 2022

Getting your kitchen tiles Christmas-ready in 2022

Making your wall kitchen tiles sparkle for Christmas

Cooking can cause quite the mess, not just on the stovetop but on the walls and tiles over time if there’s not proper maintenance. However, the kitchen is often referred to as the heart of the home because it’s usually the one room that’s used more than any other – for cooking, eating, entertaining guests, and more. As such, it’s important to keep the kitchen clean and presentable at all times so that it’s always welcoming to those who enter. But how can one ensure that their kitchen tiles are always clean?

With this Christmas set to be a big one for many families who have not been able to get together for the last couple of years, you might be thinking about beating the Christmas rush and getting your kitchen clean before the big day. Whilst you could get professional cleaners in to do the job, this is likely a cost that many of us just cant afford this year and with a bit of elbow grease and some great products, you could do just as good (if not a better) job!

Tips to getting your kitchen tiles like new

  • Get your grout cleaned first – check out our grout cleaning tips in the paragraph below!
  • Before you start on your kitchen tiles, you need to be aware of the type of tiles you have and what cleaning pad you are planning to use. If you have printed or patterned tiles, avoid a harsh cleaning brush and opt for a soft sponge instead.
  • Using warm water and a clean cloth, pick up a good quality tile cleaner and start to get rid of the grease and dirt build up, particularly around your hob.
  • Repeat this process until you are satisfied that even the most stubborn of stains have disappeared. Be sure to get some fresh warm water to go over the kitchen tiles and get rid of excess product.
  • Dry your kitchen tiles with a clean tea towel or microfibre cloth for a professional finish!

Don’t forget about the kitchen tiles under your feet

Now that your kitchen tiles are looking as good as new, its time to pay some attention to your floor tiles and make them look just as good! The kitchen tiles on our floor are probably the busiest place in our homes. With constant foot traffic coming in and out of the kitchen more than any other room in the house, its no wonder they often need a bit of TLC to keep them looking beautiful. Luckily, we have some quick tips to get your floor kitchen tiles bright and shiny.

Tips to cleaning your kitchen floor tiles

  • As dust and debris is likely to have built up on the surface of your kitchen tiles, be sure to get the vacuum around the room to remove any excess dirt.
  • Get your grout shiny and new by using the tips below!
  • Using a good quality mop and even better floor cleaner, get to work on washing your floors, using warm water. You may have to repeat this process a few times for stubborn stains.
  • Sit back, have a cup of tea and wait for your beautiful new floor to dry!

Keeping your grout clean for a beautiful kitchen space

Whilst we try to keep our kitchens as clean as possible, many of us forget about cleaning the grout between our kitchen tiles until its too late. Often, our grout will have turned a dirty brown colour before we remember that it wasn’t always like that! If you are looking for a foolproof way of keeping your grout clean, we have just the tips for you.

Either purchase a grout cleaning brush, or just a common household toothbrush can work just as well. Similarly, grout cleaner can be used or you can make a concoction using household products.

For the household grout cleaning paste, mix baking soda and vinegar to form a paste. Once you are happy with the consistency, apply the paste to your grout and work it in using your brush.

Leave the paste to work its magic for 30 minutes before removing with a clean cloth and warm water.

If your grout stains are particularly stubborn, we recommend using a good quality grout cleaner.
